Travel and Training Awards 2022

Congratulations to the Winter and Spring recipients of the DIGS-BB travel and training awards! This time, the training award trip leads to an EMBO workshop in the UK, and three travel award trips lead to conferences in the US. DIGS-BB offers 1,500€ to cover cost of travel, lodging and conference fees, allowing the selected candidates to expand their science network and discuss science matters with international peers in their field or seek for Postdoc position opportunities.

  • Giulia Pierini (Dahmann Group) received her training award to attend the EMBO workshop “Long distance cell-cell signaling in development and disease”, Exeter, UK.
  • Chi-Chieh Lee (Calegari Group) will present at the “Alzheimer's Association International Conference 2022”, San Diego, USA with her contribution “Boosting Hippocampal Neurogenesis Rescues Cognitive Impairments in 3xTgAD Mouse Model of Alzheimer’s Disease”.
  • Thomas Czerniak (Sáenz Group) will present at the “RNA 2022” conference, Boulder, Colorado with his contribution “Lipid membranes modulate the activity of RNA through sequence-dependent interactions”.
  • Vladyslav Telychko (Tóth Group) will present at the “Gordon Research Seminar (GRS). Meiosis. Molecular Mechanisms and Regulation of Sexual Reproduction and Gordon Research Conference (GRC). Meiosis. Diverse and Conserved Molecular Mechanisms Preventing Aneuploidy During Gamete Production”, New London, NH, USA with his contribution “The role of the chromosome axes during meiosis”.
