The DIGS-BB receives a €250,000 grant over the course of five years by the Joachim Herz Stiftung for a new alumni program. The aim of the grant is to widen the support of our PhD students by letting them profit from the experiences of our former graduates, as well as to intensify the relationship with former PhDs and group leaders.

Grants were awarded to four university graduate programs. Besides the TUD’s DIGS-BB the beneficiaries were the Universität Hamburg, the TU Berlin, and the Friedrich-Schiller-Universität in Jena.

The DIGS-BB alumni program will comprise annual meetings between alumni and current PhD students, invitations of PhD students to alumni working groups, a Career Day, a Life Science Industry Day, theme specific meetings, an alumni website, and a newsletter.
