Design principles of a minimal synthetic cell membrane

This project will explore the biochemistry and biophysics of the cell membranes of Mycoplasma and the synthetic minimal cell (JCVI-Syn3.0). These simple organisms are model systems to explore the simplest design principles required to engineer a responsive synthetic membrane from the bottom up.
