International speaker seminars
International renowned scientists are invited by the participating institutions to present their scientific work in Dresden. PhD students are required to attend research seminars on a regular basis. Please follow the links to learn more about the invited speakers.

Internal seminars
PhD students participate at the internal seminars organized by the hosting institution. At least once during the PhD thesis work, each PhD student will have the opportunity to present the own scientific work to a large audience.
Conferences/Symposia
Annual Predoc Symposium
PhD students organize a 2-day scientific symposium outside Dresden, which promotes scientific exchange and networking amongst the students. Internationally renowned senior scientists are invited to attend the symposium, to discuss science and related issues with the PhD students.
Career Day
Every second year the PhD students organize and chair a Career Day, during which invited speakers from academia, industry, scientific journals and funding bodies present alternative careers to the PhD students.
