Axolotl in the wild is racing towards extinction

The Mexican salamander “axolotl”, that regenerates limbs and organs after injuries, is racing towards extinction in the wild. Although axolotl research is expanding, a loss of genetic diversity could be catastrophic for sustainable research. The science journal Nature has published an article on this topic, to which CRTD research group leader Dr. Tatiana Sandoval Guzmán has contributed.
